this aint my first rodeo...actually is it

i need a shirt that says: I SURVIVED SHERIDAN'S WYO RODEO WEEK.
because i did.
it was a blast. i dont really know where to start.
most people say the beginning is the place to start.
WHERE IS THE BEGINNING??
just kidding, i know where the beginning is.
man, i have been watching way too many dr. steven brule clips this week.
he is influencing my life. (youtube dr. steven brule, your funny bone will love you for it)
anyway, ill just talk about rodeo weekend. bc thats when i went to the rodeo.
on friday night i went to the rodeo with christina, michelle and jaime.
homahgawd! it was RIDICULOUS!!!
it was crazy, and amazing and hilarious, and wild and fun...and slightly inhumane.
they started out with the indian rally races. this thing was awesome!

they have all these different tribes there. they each have to complete three laps around the track on three different WILD HORSES....BAREBACK.
so after the first lap, the half naked indian men jump off of a running wild stallion and jump onto a new one. it was the best thing i have ever seen in my life. i lost my voice cheering them on. uuhhh it was sooo cool.

then after that they had the bucking bronco contest (awesome), some steer roping (scary a bit), barrel racing (wicked cool), something else (obviously not cool enough to remember), then the BULL RIDING CONTEST
bull riding is freaky to watch, but also crazy cool. these guys have spines like gumby. i swear. they are being tossed around and whipped like you wouldnt believe, then they just fall off the bull and walk away. gumby spines. not everyone has them.
so after screaming my head off and generally having the time of my life with some awesome friends, we all make our way over to the street dance. man o man. i loved the street dance.
the only thing that sucked was there were a TON of tourists. usually when i go out with friends, i basically see everyone i know and it is fun and i have a great time. i barely saw ANYONE i knew. sure i ran into some people, but it was so strange not knowing everyone in town. gosh, living in a small town really has changed me!
in grand rapids, i didnt know anyone when i went out, other than the people i was with. in sheridan, you basically can go anywhere by yourself and run into someone you know. i love it.
ok this post is really long. i'll write about saturday's festivities tomorrow.
but friday night rocked pretty hard. it was so much fun, great way to kick off rodeo weekend.
