rodeo weekend part deux

When i say 'tomorrow' on my blog, i usually mean 'in a few days...or a week...or maybe a month'. because i am dumb and i sometimes forget i even have a blog. so i will finish telling you about my rodeo weekend because it is worth telling. saturday night was basically like friday night. i went over to my friend carrie's house and hung out with her friends that were in town from cheyenne. the rodeo didnt start until 7ish, so we were going to catch dinner before we headed off. after a series of unfortunarte events (hahah, to book nerd in me did that), we ended up not getting to our dinner destination (olivers) until 6. we (carrie and i, sorry carrie, but im brining you down with me) are dumb and didnt actually think that the customer volume would change much during rodeo week. it did. olivers was PACKED. it took like 25 mins to get our drinks. we were absolutely starving, so we decided to stay and have just appitizers, but this took forever too. we eventually make it o...

pause

I will write about my Saturday at the rodeo tomorrow. I thought I would take a pause and share a letter I just wrote to Ree Drummond (the pioneer woman). You can laugh at me. Many do. haha Dear Ree, I am just writing you a small letter to let you know how much happiness you have brought me in my life, and the lives of so many others. I am a late-comer to your website, but I discovered it in a very interesting way. I have been close to my friend Abby since birth. We were in nursery together at church. Our mothers like to tell us stories about how they had to pick us up together; otherwise we would go into fits of rage when we were separated. This little fact has always been cute to us, and has basically not changed in our entire relationship. We went to camp together in middle school, passed notes to each other in high school. Shared stories, gossip, and makeup up until our adult lives. I went away to a small Christian college about 2 hours from home, but I never missed a week without t...

this aint my first rodeo...actually is it

i need a shirt that says: I SURVIVED SHERIDAN'S WYO RODEO WEEK. because i did. it was a blast. i dont really know where to start. most people say the beginning is the place to start. WHERE IS THE BEGINNING?? just kidding, i know where the beginning is. man, i have been watching way too many dr. steven brule clips this week. he is influencing my life. (youtube dr. steven brule, your funny bone will love you for it) anyway, ill just talk about rodeo weekend. bc thats when i went to the rodeo. on friday night i went to the rodeo with christina, michelle and jaime. homahgawd! it was RIDICULOUS!!! it was crazy, and amazing and hilarious, and wild and fun...and slightly inhumane. they started out with the indian rally races. this thing was awesome! they have all these different tribes there. they each have to complete three laps around the track on three different WILD HORSES....BAREBACK. so after the first lap, the half naked indian men jump off of a running wild stallion and jump onto ...

karaoke....bc i like to look like a freak

i am missing vital brain cells. seriously. on saturday night i went to karaoke with my friends. we were celebrating ben's bday and he likes to sing karaoke. hes a cool dude. i sang celine dion's "it's all coming back to me now" it was packed. i wasn't at all embarressed about my performance. even though many members of our group told me i did terribly. not a shock. i sound like a cat in heat when i sing.

in my first year of college...

I pretended to be one of those cool indie/scene kids. I listened to all the cool music, dressed in the finest thrisft store fashions. Thought about being a vegatrian for about a day. And I took many, many bizzare pictures. First friend Marjie and I would drive around and take pictures. Mostly because she was good at taking pictures with her awesome camera, and I liked having my picture taken, because I am vain. Here is a prime example of indie andrea in action. That's me sitting at the bottom of the picture. I look ridiculous. Marjie came back after Christmas break and had a cool webcam attached to her computer. So we decided to take tons of pictures on it. Like my kewl urban outfitters owl sweater. That thing was all wool, itched like a bitch and I shrunk it two sizes too small the first time I washed it. So naturally I wore it for the next 4 years of college. That's how I roll. This one is a gem. Again, another Marjie/andrea expedition to the local senior center. We found a l...

4th

homahgawd where do i start? my fourth weekend was amazing. and sucky. and sickish. and crazy. i had four days of completely jam packed fun. i guess i will break the stories up by the funny little quips that happened this is going to be a long post. my raising readers co-worker in cheyenne dana brought his habitat for humanity friends up with him. courtney and kyle. with our (comic) powers combined, we are seriously the funniest people in the world. that is not an exaggeration. i barely stopped laughing all weekend. here are a few of the funny things that we did this weekend. #1: we were on our way up to go camping with carrie and nolan at tongue river res. they have jet skis up there, so naturally we were all completely geeked to ride them. while we were discussing the various ways we were going to shred on the jet skis, courtney says "man, i am totally going to hold on and speed away *EEEEEHEHEHEHEEEEE*(this is an extremely loud unintentional witches cackle)" we all stop and...
