what my last two days looked like

ok i have got two stories for you today. buckle up. story 1: baseball punch like i told you all a couple posts ago, i have joined a co-rec softball team. i play right outfielder. rarely balls ever come in my vicinity. so mostly i just stand there and sweat (it was like 100 degrees at our last game). this past game had one left handed batter. that means that if he is lucky enough or strong enough to really slug the ball, it's going to be coming right at me. this man was both lucky and strong. which meant that i was very unlucky. the first time he was up to bat he hit the ball super far, but luckily it wasnt very close to me, so my teammate got it. close call. the second time he was up was a different story. he hit the ball DIRECTLY at me. it was a nice arcing ball that should have landed in my glove. but because i am not athletically inclined, i had no idea what the 'proper' way to catch the ball was. instead of lifting up my glove, i cradled it. thus making the ball hit me....

I'M BORED

i am usually a pretty content person. i dont really mind the situations i find myself in. i can usually make do with just about anything. but every once in awhile i go through a weird phase. i start getting bored and anxious and antsy. it doesnt matter if i love where i am. i always start to feel like my life is too stagnant. that's how i have been feeling. last time i felt like that, i signed up for americorps and moved to wyoming. the time before that, i moved out of my parent's house and into a house in GR. before that, i went to a college i had never heard of all by myself. i have flight issues. i like to jump into things without looking first. i think its because i am spontaneous. or that i want to experience stuff first hand. i dont like being told to do things. my mom says im stubborn (thats her saying it nicely). but right now i think the reason i always get anxious/antsy/bored is because i dont want to miss out on what i can get out of life. this sounds a little preach...

weirdy me

Image
so i have a little confession to make. i am completely fascinated with astrology. fascinated? facsinated? fasssssinated? i am an aquarius. i am very much an aquarius. i have had on-and-off spurts of researching and reading stuff about the zodiac for years now. im on the "on" side of this cycle. because i am a weirdy, i also like to see what signs are compatible with mine. work-related friendship-wise and LOVVVVVVVVE here is the best love compatibility for an aquarius Aquarius and Sagittarius love compatibility The combination usually has a great chance for success. These two are so innovative about lovemaking that they ought to charge admission. In addition, they inspire each other intellectually, for Aquarius has far-out, inventive ideas and Sagittarius is optimistic and visionary. They both are unpredictable, active and cheerful. They both like making love. They have rich imagination and they are full of interesting fantasies. They love to be the center of everyone's a...

my new thang

i'm a joiner. it's not really because i like to try new things. i do, but that's not really the main reason i am a joiner. i'm a joiner because i am constantly trying ot find new people that think i am funny. i am very selfish that way. please tell me i am funny. anywho. i have never been good at sports. or acting. or singing. or painting. i have no idea how to scrapbook. but i have joined numerous clubs/organizations/teams in which i have had to do all of the above. yes, i joined a scrapbooking club. i was in the easter play at my church....for many years. until i realized i sucked at acting. i thankfully wasn't in choir at school, but if there was a karaoke club, you can bet i would join it. i took about 7 art classes in school. i think i got good grades in them bc i was "most improved". always remember, start out TERRIBLY, then strive to be ok. my new adventure is baseball. yes, i have joined a co-rec softball team. i'm right outfield. basically the...

a friend of mine

sometimes i have people that want me to write about them in this thing. well, actually only 3 people have asked me to write about them. i think 2 of them asked because they were just suggesting topics for me to write about. one asked because he is annoying. and wants the attention. lets see if anyone can guess who this person is. i'll give you twenty clues. 1. his biker name is shredder. mountain biker name that is. 2. he has a masters in library science. 3. he lives in a creepy basement that he rents for really cheap. dubbed the murder cellar...by me. it's really scary 4. likes the sound of a harpsichord. 5. he works for Raising Readers...like me. he's my co-worker. that was a give away. 6. it's really hard to come up with 20 interesting facts about a person, so i might just make up some facts about this person. 7. he is an artist. his favorite medium is black ball point pens. and orange scrap pieces of paper. 8. he used to live in a cave with the wild dogs of cheyenne...

This will be my last entry about yellowstone, I swear. I mean it's been like weeks since my mom and I went. But it was a pretty awesome trip. It seems like it was the only interesting thing to happen in my life recently.... .....here is a gorgeous pic of mom and I at jackson lake. So cool Ok, so that was a lie above. There actually has been some pretty awesome things that have happened in my life recently. I've just been a butt about posting about them. This past Saturday (2 days ago) I went to my first EVER monster truck rally. Yes, my neck is still a little red from going. Yes, I cheered like a deranged lunatic. for the BARRBARIAN. And yes, it was fun, so much fun, way too much fun. I LOVED it. LOVED LOVED LOVED IT. Here's a few pictures from the event that i stole from Michelle. Thanks! This was before the show started. You could pay $10 to go on a 45 second ride in this thing. I was actually tempted. MONSTER TRUCKS CRUSHING CARS LIGHT IT UP BOYZZZZZZ It was awesome. Car...

yellowstone/teton highlights

i know, i know. i'm a tease. i gave you all a tiny taste of my yellowstone experience with my mom, then i never wrote about it. sorry, work got in the way. and sleep. and a friend's cd release party. that was a lot of fun. but back to yellowstone. there are about three stories that stick out in my mind from this weekend. and i will tell you about ALL of them. because i love my readers (mom, alli, abby, and carrie) and i WONT let you down again. STORY #1: The Bears mom and i get into yellowstone in the late afternoon on saturday and can instantly feel the change. mostly because we are no longer able to drive at 85 mph. we stretch out the map given to us by the park ranger that took our money and plot our course. because both mom and myself don't really need to make plans, like ever, we were content with just driving around until dark, then high-tail it to our hotel. after driving for about 5 mins we run into our first wild-life experience. BISON (which we called buffalo the ...

stories from memorial day weekend 1

My mom came and visited me this past weekend. It was wonderful. I love my mom. She is so funny. She mummbles a lot. We went to Yellowstone and Teton National Park. Did you know Teton means tits in French. I bet you did. Throughout this week, I thought I would write about some of the things that happend during this weekend. There were many. Mom arrived in town around 4:30ish on Friday. I took her on a brief tour of the town then we decided to go out to dinner. We went to a local favorite, Sanfords. They have dollar beers. The bad thing about having a favorite restaurant in a small town is that the waiters know who you are. My mom was shocked that the waiter knew what I was going to drink and eat. It made it easy for me though. We enjoyed a pleasant dinner and ran into some of my friends. Then we made our way over to the local hookah bar. Mom wanted to try some out. My friends and I go there a bunch too. The people know me there. Mom was shocked, again. Oh, and I have many pictures of mo...
